Michael Stewart is a serial social-entrepreneur who has spent the last decade, along with his business partner Kevin Wilden, transforming the culture and business of surfing, towards a truly sustainable model, leading the way to the low-carbon future the world desperately needs for survival. He has led the research and development for all of Sustainable Surf’s award-winning programs, including the recent launch of SeaTrees – the first regenerative ocean-health focused platform created for the global ocean community, using the framework of the United Nations Sustainability Goals, to make holistic positive impacts for both people and planet. The powerful partnerships, programs and initiatives of Sustainable Surf, arguably has forced the hand of the global surf industry, towards better practices. Michael’s lifelong passion for the surfing experience, his gratitude for the simple honest lessons it has to teach, and the pure joy of connecting with the oceans energy, has been the catalyst and motivating force behind a life which is truly Ocean Positive.
